The National Level Conference – SARVASASTRA – was organized by the Department of Bio-technolgy, Dr. M.G.R. Educational & Research Institute UNIVERSITY, on 22nd & 23rd of March 2016. The theme for the Conference was Food, Health & Environment. Sarvasastra – the Sanskrit equivalent for “Knowing every Science” – was planned to provide a platform for discussing and exchanging views on various areas of ‘Food, Health & Environment’ and their applications of them by academicians, researchers, and practitioners. Participants had an opportunity to share their knowledge, views and research findings to build networks with professionals having similar interests.
The Faculty of Hotel Management and Catering Technology joined in the organization of the Conference with the inputs relevant to the department in all the three areas – Food, Health & Environment. The students of the department participated actively through POSTER PRESENTATION & BUTTER SCULPTURE Food, Health & Environment. The students chose topics and concepts of importance to make impacting presentations.
The conference featured an exceptional line-up of invited speakers, researchers, scientists, industrialists and students at the Conference providing an ideal mix of high-level innovation, research, academic mastering and technical talks in the areas of Food, Health & Environment. Among the eminent speakers at the conference were Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, Founder & Scientist & Emeritus Chairman Dr. M.S.Swaminathan Research Foundation, and Chief Mentor and Dr. P.Jayaraman, Director of Plant Anatomy Research Centre.
