Mathivanan’s journey in the hospitality industry started with his interest in the subject. He saw immense potential for business opportunities in this field, as his brother was already in the food industry. Mathivanan shared his experience of going for a 3-day Outdoor Catering event to Feathers Hotel, for which the college had trained them.
When he joined college, he did not have any prior knowledge of the basics. However, the faculty at the Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology took them to a cake competition event, trained them in 5 to 10 days, and supported them throughout the process. Similarly, during placement, the faculty trained them well and provided support, resulting in several successful placements.
Mathivanan’s internship at Novotel Chennai provided him with experience in kitchen operations, service, and housekeeping. He credits his success to the faculty and their dedication to training and supporting students. Mathivanan concludes by thanking all the faculty members for their guidance and support throughout his academic journey.
