The 3rd year students were on a study trip to the Central Food Research and Technological Institute (CFTRI) in Mysuru on 5th December 2014. CFTRI is one of the most acclaimed food research organizations in the world. The students of Faculty of Hotel Management & Catering Technology were lucky to have got an opportunity to be on a trip CFTRI campus as a part of their Course.

The visit to the institute and the processes undertaken there could give the students the first hand knowledge about the approvals that the institute gave to the food product makers. Food product approvals are most critical as they play a major role in the health and the future of the country – its people.

The students were addressed by the senior officials of the institute and it was an opportunity that came to very few. They could get various inputs with regard to the institute’s activities and how they went about doing their tests and approvals. All the students who made the trip felt it was a great opportunity that the department provided to them.
