Sushi Training Workshops were held in Chennai & New Delhi from 07.03.2014 to 11.03.2014. Mr. Hidehiro Ishiura, Director General of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) welcomed the gathering at the Workshop venue and the workshop was thus inaugurated in the presence of Consulate General of Japan Mr. Masanori Nakano, and the globally reputed Master Chefs from Japan Mr.Ogawa & Mr. Kazoto; Mr. Pascal Durpuis, General Manager of Leela Palace, Dr. Chef Soundararajan, Executive Corporate Chef, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts, Chef Vijayabaskaran, Exec Chef Le Meridien, Chef Dharman Makhawana, Exec Chef, Leela Palace, Chef Sheetharam Prasaad, Exec Chef, GRT Hotels & Resorts were present on the occasion.
There were demonstrations during the workshop. Master Chef Hirotoshi Ogawa detailed the different stages of sushi making – from preparation to presentation. Master chef Masayoshi Kazoto demonstrated as to how to hold the rice during Sushi Making. Mr. Keiichi imamoto, a Japanese Importer briefed about the Japanese ingredients during the international Sushi Training Workshop held at Chennai. Chef Sudhir Sibal, Indian Ambassador of World Chefs was present on the occasion. He also did the interpretation. Mr. Prabhu, Head of the Department, Faculty of Hotel Management & Catering Technology coordinated and supported in the various activities & took an active part interacting with the dignitaries.
