The Department of Hotel Management and Culinary Arts at Dr. MGR Educational & Research Institute has achieved a resounding victory at the Budding Chef Challenge 2024, India’s first “Farm to Table Culinary” event. Held on November 27th and 28th, 2024, at the Asian Christian Culinary & Agricultural Science Institute in Hosur, this prestigious competition saw our students claim an impressive 40 medals—7 Gold, 13 Silver, 20 Bronze, and 2 Merit Awards.
A Competitive Platform with International Recognition
The Budding Chef Challenge brought together 19 students from our department, competing in over 42 categories against participants from 12 leading colleges across India. Judged by internationally renowned chefs Ammar Molki from Lebanon and Ramesh Javvaji from India, the event celebrated creativity, skill, and the innovative “Farm to Table” concept.
