Campus Placement Drive, 2024

On February 22, 2024, the Dept. of Placement & Trainingat Dr. MGR Educational & Research Institute organized a campus recruitment drive for the students of Faculty of Hotel Management & Culinary Arts. The event, held in collaboration with Accord Group of Hotels and Resorts, was a golden opportunity for students to showcase their skills and explore career possibilities in the hospitality industry.

The recruitment panel comprised three distinguished professionals from Accord Group:

  • Saravana Perumal, Corporate HR Manager
  • Thaslima Banu, Assistant Learning and Development Manager, The Accord Metropolitan
  • Vijay Kumar, Head of Human Resources, The Accord Metropolitan

The Selection Process

The recruitment drive consisted of three rounds designed to test the knowledge, personality, and skills of the candidates:

  1. Aptitude Test: To evaluate the students’ problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  2. Group Discussion: To assess their communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  3. One-on-One Interviews: For an in-depth understanding of each candidate’s strengths, potential, and attitude toward the hospitality industry.

Insights from Recruiters

The recruiters not only assessed the students but also shared valuable insights about what they look for in future employees. They emphasized the importance of strong communication skills, adaptability, passion for hospitality, and the ability to think on their feet. The panel was impressed by the dedication and preparedness of the students, highlighting their overall performance and enthusiasm throughout the process.
